Attach the stock intake manifolds to the stock reed cages with only two bottem bolts and nuts holding the two together. Use a hacksaw and cut right until the two bolts. Take the bolts out and you can cut the excess off with a razor blade. It takes 5 minutes. I just cut mine the other day and they came out fine. I just put the V-fore 3's on my bike with some 28mm pwk's. The stock intakes work fine with the 28's but the left carb sits on the cover over the clutch cable lever on the motor so it sits a little higher than the right hand carb. I ordered some Trinity intakes and am waitng for them!
