bigwill Posted May 6, 2005 Report Posted May 6, 2005 loss of compression if your lucky-no warning on crank-bearing failure-ride till it dies-then rebuild at the NEXT level-your air filter maintence will determine how often you have to rebuild---but dont forget Murphys Law!!!!!! Quote
chris642 Posted May 6, 2005 Report Posted May 6, 2005 some signs might be increased smoking, it is easier to kick, and it will have very poor bottom end, and i mean very bad bogging. Quote
racer Posted May 6, 2005 Report Posted May 6, 2005 horrid noises from the crankcase, knocking sounds in the clutch side. any grinding noises. anything out of the ordinary really. or when its runs fucking unbelievably great. mine always seems to be running sumbitch, then throws a rod, or spilts a piston in two or something. PolyKarbon Posted May 6, 2005 Report Posted May 6, 2005 Signs of motor going: It makes a vrooom vrooom sound When you put it in gear it moves Smoke comes out the exhaust Oh, you meant signs of motor going to shit...my bad. Quote
sheefreak Posted May 6, 2005 Report Posted May 6, 2005 Just always keep an eye on your plugs to always make sure your jetting is good, check compression every once in a while, and hope a crank bearing doesn't go out, or something stupid like losing a circlip, you should be pretty alright. If something just plain breaks and you maintained everything well, it was just meant to be and you will have no idea. And it is usually true, your bike will run better than it ever has before right before something blows. Quote
