jburner Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 I have a 2001 banshee With Durablue +2/+2 axle. I noticed that the rear carrier is sloppy. When I have the bike on the lift I can grab the rear tires and the axle feels slightly loose in the carrier. It is not much but there is some play in the carrier. Is this normal? Quote
white trash Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 Nope not normal... You need new carrier bearings Quote
jburner Posted April 27, 2005 Author Report Posted April 27, 2005 IS this a commen problem? Is it hard to replace? Quote
Rare Scottish Tree Badger Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 Are you sure it's not just your axle nuts that have loosened up? Any bearings will wear out through time. If you've got access to tools then it's quite simple. The actual bearings themselves can be a pig to come out and may nead some brute force. Try here for a good 'steps' guide. .... http://www.bluetraxx.com/axle_bearing_install_1_new.htm Rare. Quote
ledofthezep Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 I agree with RSTB...make sure your nuts are good before you screw with replacing the bearings. http://www.bluetraxx.com/axle_bearing_install_1_new.htm Lord I apologize... Quote
