superchicken Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 ive always used either yamabond or three bond grey when i do the cases.now i do know after you assemble every thing and get her running ,the oil does go a little low the first few times you go riding,i think because it lays up on the tranny gear shelfs.so,why exacly do you think its burning oil? tyguy71 Posted April 24, 2005 Author Report Posted April 24, 2005 I'm hoping that its just leaking thru the case....it was buning oil so bad i had it basically sprayin out the exhaust. I will find out monday when i get my new crank seal... Hope it fixes it this time....This Shee has been a money pit... Quote
superchicken Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 is your oil level dropping when you check the dip stick? maybe your just way rich Quote
tyguy71 Posted April 24, 2005 Author Report Posted April 24, 2005 no...its definitly gear oil....i burned off about a half quart in an hour...i just still cant believe that it could all be just seeping thru the case halves Quote
MILO Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 if you're losing that much into your cylinders and it's pushing out the exhaust wouldn't the plugs be fouling or running like shit? sounds more like a rich fuel ratio, and a leak somewhere to me. are you sure it's not leaking where the case halves meet, or out your drain plug or something?? tyguy71 Posted April 24, 2005 Author Report Posted April 24, 2005 40:1??????????? I dont think thats too rich. Its gotta be coming from where the case halves meet...i will know monday when i put it all back together i guess Quote
