05bansh Posted April 21, 2005 Report Posted April 21, 2005 I was only at 155 with 15's no porting, factory crank....bore size is the most important thing to watch, at .030 i was fine but a friend at .060 was detonating like crazy 358417[/snapback] What was your altitude? If your only at 155psi with 15cc domes it sounds like you need a new top end to me. I'm pushing at about 155 almost 160 with my 19's here in slc. Quote
rzcolobanshee Posted April 21, 2005 Report Posted April 21, 2005 My compression was a little low (about 10 lbs) So 165 is getting borderline, 16's would be pretty safe. With 19's you shouldn't even be hitting 140...you guys sure about your elevation? SLC can go down to 4200 which would make more sense, I'm right at 5000 Sea 1000' 2000' 3000' 4000' 5000' 18cc 197 178 171 170 165 145 19cc 183 167 160 158 152 137 20cc 169 156 149 146 140 129 21cc 156 145 138 134 128 121 stock 130 125 118 112 106 100 What was your altitude? I bought a 29 dollar Autozone with Screw in hose. My Shee was little over 180 with 19cc domes But remeber It's a 4 mill stroker and I don't run gaskets on my spacer plate. So my Compression reading is alittle tigher than stock setup. But with my buddys gauge on it at StAnthony it was 170 which is about 400 to 500 feet higher and with a Mac gauge. So it can all & will be different. But i am baselined So now I know where I am at. This is Good basic info for engine tuning. Notes are also a great tuning tools. So write it down.
