how much will 300ex shocks lower my bike

I have my bike struted right now, but its rough at the dirt drags, and its bouncing really bad, so I am gunna run some shocks, but I need ones that are lower, I am going to keep the rear struted, but I was thinking of 300 ex shocks for the front, how much will it lower it??

They lower it a couple inches.Thats what I use up front and I have a strut in the rear.I don't remember off hand how much lower it is or the length of my strut,but the set-up works realy well.

Do the 300ex shocks bolt right up, or is there modification that needs to be done?

They will bolt right up.The top is a little more narrow on the 300 shocks compared to the stock ones but you could always make some spacers like I did.But I don't think you need them.
