hey guys i had a shaved head on my bike and it was getting about 160 psi compression i just rebuilt the topend with vito power pistons but a local shop said i should not put that shaved head back on it with those pistons ..said it would have too much compression is there any truth to that? i have not checked the compression on the motor since the rebuild. thanks in advance for your advice.

I don't know anything about power pistons but if you put your shaved head back on and the compression is higher run race gas and I would think you should be fine. Maybe somebody knows more about those pistons. :shrugani: See what the compression is with it on. Also do you have a welded crank? you might want to think about having it done if you get your compression really high.

Is there such a thing as too much compression  ...never heard of that before.

BUT...at 160, I would be looking in to some type of AV fuel, or mixed race gas. If you don't want to run anything higher than 93 octane pump gas, I wouldn't run that head or you'll have some detonation in your motor.

some of vitos modified pistons also raise comprsession add in your high compression head and you may run into trouble with octane and topend squash clearances. check your compressio nand squashabnd clearance once its all together
