JArmShee Posted April 9, 2005 Report Posted April 9, 2005 My 91 Motor has A Pro Design Cool Head with 20CC Domes.Power reeds. A Keihin 33PWKmm Carb kit. Stage IV manifolds, Tommey pipes etc. Should I be running pump gas or Race gas? I know the guy b4 me had taken the domes out and is running race gas but I was considering putting the domes back in. Not having the domes in would require race gas? Advice appreciated Anthony Quote

Does it have the 20's in it right now? What's your elevation? Any timing advance? Have you checked your compression? If your compression is over 160 you need race gas. Quote

As far as compression I know it has a .50 over wiseco and I would have to test the compression The quad is new and I havent had a chance to Mess with it yet. Quote
PUSH THE THROTTLE Posted April 9, 2005 Report Posted April 9, 2005 From Noss's web site it appears that at sea level you'd need race gas since compression would be near 169, at 1300' you'd be ok on premium pump gas. Noss's chart tends to be conservative. But since your machine isn't new you might not have that high of compression. You need to check it and if you're near 160psi run race gas. Quote
