Vitos sells aftermarket 240 aftermarket cylinder w/ head kits or 240 sleeve kits so you can resleeve the stock cylinder. The new sleeve has bigger ports so when it is installed and the stock cylinders are port matched to the sleeve it is like getting a port job. You also have to have the head turned so it has big bore domes to accept the larger piston size. I would recommend having Vito's do the resleeve work because you really need a nice port job to get the performance potential. I had a local shop do it and I wasn't very impressed, but it was better than stock. Also I have heard that if you go with a +2mm stroke crank (bigger would be better but +2mm requires no case trenching) it really kicks ass. I would also recommend getting the flywheel lightened and do some timing advance which will help the engine rev faster, stock blasters rev way too slow IMO. If you can afford to run race fuel, have the head milled to increase compression, all these put together and you'll probably need a bigger carb but it should easily double HP output.

In my humble opinion, I would not use Vito's for the Blaster.

 

I would only use Trenga (www.trengaracing.com) or CT for big bore Blaster (240cc). If you really want to go crazy, get the new 265cc kit from Trinity.

 

Of course, Im only speaking from 15 years of building race (TT and Flat Track) Blasters....

I just helped a friend tear down his sons Blaster last weekend. The top ring is gone...........and the sleeve is ate up pretty good around the exhaust port. I think he will need to go to a .060" over piston to clean it up, does Wiseco make .080" and .100" pistons for the Blaster too? I hate to get it bored if it has no overbore sizes left after that when we can probably pick up a good jug off of Ebay.

 

What else should we do while we are in there, headwork & timing? Anything else?

Ya know, for me, I couldnt agree more, but its what customers wanted...

 

I just finished a 2004 Blaster for my son to race National TT/ST and I have to admit, its pretty bad-ass for 200cc's...

They do, but if youre worried about it, I would find yourself a stock cylinder and start fresh. Blaster jugs are cheap.

 

Remember, the Blasty is a dinosaur air cooled motor and when that sleeve starts getting too thin, youre only asking for more trouble.

i wouldnt get a big bore ,not that it isnt a good power maker, its just you can mill your stock head .035 for premium or av fuel and do a good dune port job with auxiliary boysen ports and high durations, also a lighter flywheel and timing advance and itll rip for a 196cc kids bike. all these mods arent very expensive and youll be making atleast mid to upper 20's horsepower with lightning fast throttle response IMO :cheers:

cylinder wise they are all pretty much they same. Its what you do inside them that is what will pull the power out of it. We just built a 240 for my buddies wife and it put down 46hp on the dyno. It was a vito's cylinder but not his port work. Thing hauls ass.
