03LE Posted March 21, 2005 Report Posted March 21, 2005 I was wondering if anyone else has had the metal brake lines that come out of the spliter box, that is connected to the front master cylnder, and run down to the Aarms go bad? Didn't know if is just my bad luck or if others have had this problem, thanks Quote
racer Posted March 21, 2005 Report Posted March 21, 2005 not here, but the ruber part of mine got messed up so i got some galfers. Quote
stclark816 Posted March 21, 2005 Report Posted March 21, 2005 Once I installed my stainless steal brake lines, I was surprised why I hadnt done it sooner. So much easier to deal with. All that already bent steal brake lines is for the birds... Quote
03LE Posted March 21, 2005 Author Report Posted March 21, 2005 cool thanks, I may look for something other then stock parts to put back on it then Quote
Percy Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 I just trashed the stock front brake system, cause of brakes going soft on me. I put braided stainless hoses in, and apart from the saga to bleed them (Now solved) they are awesome. Look really trick and work a treat. I canned the 1 into 2 arrangement and have seperate hoses running from the master to each caliper. Seems to be much better. In South Africa, these hoses cost me R700 ($120) Small price to pay 2 b able to stop! Percy-Zn Quote
MDS2106 Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 i had the flare on the right brake line, break off inside the splitter, the dealer did not have the line in stock so i used a compression fitting , seems to be holding up fine Quote

And that price will get smaller and smaller once you get used to the firm lever feel of them too. Quote
03LE Posted March 22, 2005 Author Report Posted March 22, 2005 Thanks for the ideas, looks like I'm gonna have to get creative on it and make something that works, I'll let ya all know how it turns out. Quote
