richybanshee Posted March 21, 2005 Report Posted March 21, 2005 The best aftermarket exhaust .... It is difficult to say for sure, I guess it all depends on the type of riding you will do. For a stock motor and trail riding: Toomey TR6 FMF Gnarlies FMF SST's FMF Fatties Procircuit Paul Turner midrange For Stock Motor and more midrange to top end power FMF SST's and Fatties Toomey TR6 and T5's Procircuit Modified motors for mid to top end power CPI Rockets Shearer Toomey T5's FMF Fatties I have CPI's ona stock motor with the Toomey 2:1 High Flow Filter System and love it. Top end is way better than stock. Bottom end is not amazing but okay for trail riding. Quote
richybanshee Posted March 21, 2005 Report Posted March 21, 2005 (edited) Thinking about it ... Why not stick with does rusty fatties? I do not think T5's will give an advantage, besides you mentioned that you ride mostly trails and fatties are better for that. For the money you will spend on used pipes, you can get more low end power by putting on a Noss Cool head with 21cc domes and a vitos degree key or timing plate. stclark816 Posted March 21, 2005 Report Posted March 21, 2005 Fatties and Toomeys are almost the same thing... Maybe just a little difference, but not a whole lot.. Quote

scotts96fast Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 Fatties and Toomeys are almost the same thing... Maybe just a little difference, but not a whole lot.. 342664 those pipes are different...I just sold my T-5 for fatty's.T-5 are awsome for open running, but for trails it's a pain staying in the powerband and when you hit it all you get is wheelspin. You have to be perfect on the clutch comming out of the turns. To much = wheel spin and not enough = bogggggggg than hold on.... I ran the T-5's for years on open roads 4th,5th and 6th gears.once I started to run the tight trails I hated the t-5's. Quote
97banshee350 Posted March 22, 2005 Author Report Posted March 22, 2005 ya , how much do you think it would cost to have my fmf fatties chromed? Quote
decon Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 ya , how much do you think it would cost to have my fmf fatties chromed? 342888 im not sure about that . but as for pipes, get a certain one depending on where you ride. if you ride trails i would say keep the fatty's, they are real good pipes. and if u got some paper, PTR mids, best low end pipe on the market. you can occasionaly find some on ebay. if you ride the dunes, toomeys definately. real good top end pipe. if you ride fast trails you could go with some toomeys, but you will be clutching alot. out of all the choices i just say get the fattys chromed, and save yourself some money. alot of people like fattys over most pipes.
