Hello, i just got a Banshee yesturday and its new 2005 i started it when i got home, ive never had a atv and it seems to be boggy at low throttle, but when it hits middle it wants to toss me off the atv, is this a normal thing for a new atv or should i bring it back to them to see what they can do?

It's sounds like your pilot jet.. BUT, remember that Banshees aren't known for there bottom end in stock form. You also need to break the motor in, in case you weren't sure about that.

Welcome to the H.Q.!

You need to follow the owners manual for the break in period. The banshee in it's stock form is not at all powerful at low end and it WILL throw you on your head when it decides to come alive.

Once the break in is done like the owners manual says, then you can figure out which oil-gas ratios you want to use and what kind of modifications you want to make.

Is this your first time riding a 2 stroke? It does take a little getting used to the power band at first. Break that shee in and put some new pipes and a filter on it, then watch her come alive :) Welcome to bansheehq!

After it is good and broke in the boggy off idle response should go away. When the motor is fresh it will be a little cold blooded when you first fire it up. After you run all the break in gas through the motor, go to a 32:1 gas/oil ratio (if you are using Yamalube 2R).

what kind of oil are you useing? I mix 32:1 with belray h1r...if you dident know allready dont mix different oils. When breaking it in take it real easy for 2-3 tanks of gas.

So is 24:1 ok for breakin period?

Yes, that is what you need to run until the motor is broken in. After that you can change ratios if you would like. Well, actually you will have to, 24:1 is way to rich for a broken in motor.

most common is 32:1 , but alot of toehr popel use diff. combinations. JUst follow what the back of the bottle says. Oh, and when you get to the middle throttle and it tries to throw you off, all you gotta do it hold on - welcome to the world of 2 -strokes. You'll get used to the powerband, theres a reason why they call it the banshee.
