JKJK Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 After i get home from work i go out side to get something+i notice this woman about 4 houses down the street freeking out i mean really freeking out yelling histericlly where'my dog, where's my dog. This is going on for 3 or 4 min.So i was like fn crack heads WTF.Then i notice flames shooting out on of the windows so i assessed the sictuation, once i realized everyone was out of the house.i went+grabed the camcorder. When i returned about 5 min later the place was fully ablaze+i honestly did'nt have the urge to film it anymore,i felt like a laywer on a accident scean. That was about 1 1/2 hours agow, the firemen seem to have it under control now. BenBB Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 Yeah John it's pretty crazy watchin' a house go up in flames, it's like a car wreck or something that you can't help watching in morbid curiousity even when there's a knot in the pit of yer stomach. I've seen one and it's amazing how fast they go up, and from what I hear a mobile home is gone in a matter of minutes. My ex works for the FD here and firefighters are some good guys, whenever there's a loss of life it hits the whole dept pretty hard. Anyway, good to hear that nasty white shit's gone there, gonna hafta do some ridin' myself! Quote
Holyman Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 Now instead of the frat haouse, you will have to look at and smell the charred ruins for the next 4 months while the ins co tries to figure out what the house used to look like and what was in it. It will most likely be over a year before there is another house there and then the party starts all over again. JKJK, you're in construction, now would be a good time to approach the owners and buy the lot. The ins should be able to pay off the house and give them a nice chunk of change for their belongings and with that, they can move closer to the campus and you will own a nice lot down the street. You can build a spec home or a nice little cottage to rent out to some appreciative seniors. Just a thought. Quote

I get back to the shop, and me and my dad watch for a minute, and then about 4 minutes go by and the smoke is gone. We figured it was some farmer burning down his field again....we find out later it was some 70 year old woman smoking while she was on oxygen and torched her tornado magnet. They said it was gone in like 3 minutes or less. It takes a 70 year old like 25 minutes just to get a fucking cart at WalMart...I don't know how she got her old bones outta there. Maybe she fell over and fell through one of the walls or something Quote
SHEe DEVIL Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 That would suck...lose everything you ever owned and had memory's off. 340930[/snapback] It does suck losing everything you own and have memory of. Back on December 12th of 2000 my house burnt down while we were out grocerie shopping. Its weird driving through the country roads to your house and comming up on flashing lights and flames shooting outta your house. I wasnt able to stay and watch it burn because of all the fumes comming from the house cause i was 6 months pregnant. So the fire marshal told me to leave. The cause of the fire was my camcorder battery charging on the kitchen table. Somehow it exploded and caused the fire. Most of our pictures I was able to replace because my mom had negatives or duplicate copies. But the stuff you grow up with all your life, or the stuff you get when you bring your son home from the hospital when he was born will never be replaced. The weird thing about it is my parents house burnt down 17 yrs earlier on the exact same day. Almost to the same time give a couple hrs. But anyway just though I would share this info. Jen Quote
