racer714 Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 Hey everyone, I've decided to put my thumb throttle back on, I have a twist on it now with the tors removed, Im aware that i need a diff cable fo the thumb throttle, I already picked the correct one up. How hard is this to do? Is there anythjing I need to watch out for or any advice to make it easier? What about the clutch cable? I also plan on installing a new one as well. Thanks alot!! Quote
MonkeyBoy Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 Nope. If you have the stock carbs, it's a pain to get the cables back into the slides, but nothing you can't do. Clutch cable is even easier. With the carbs off, undo the bolt that holds the wires and cables dow to the engine, and this will make your life easier. Only thing to watch is where you route your cables to make sure that they do not bind when the steering is turned. I had a friend that routed the throttle cable to gas it when he turned left. Not a fun one to realize in the dunes. Quote
Rare Scottish Tree Badger Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 Hey everyone, I've decided to put my thumb throttle back on, I have a twist on it now with the tors removed, Im aware that i need a diff cable fo the thumb throttle, I already picked the correct one up. I'm about to do the same, but going to try the 450 thumb throttle. I'm told it's the same throttle attachment, but I need a cable. What is the manufacturer of your cable and do you have a part number? Rare. Quote
