2stroker Posted March 9, 2005 Report Posted March 9, 2005 I'm currently using size 310 jets with T3's. Would I need to change jets if I switch over to T5's? I will do a plug chop after I make the change. I just wanted to know if it's safe to do the plug chop with the 310's or if I should move up one or two sizes. The motor is mostly stock with a Toomey 2:1 airfilter, timing advanced 4 degrees, lightened flywheel, Boyesen reeds, and Toomey needles. Quote
richybanshee Posted March 9, 2005 Report Posted March 9, 2005 I do not see why not ... so put on the T5's and give it a test run. Quote
JKJK Posted March 9, 2005 Report Posted March 9, 2005 I made the same swap.On a basicly stock motor. The main did'nt change, but i had to move the needles.I think i had to raise the clip,it was a while ago.I do remember gaining noticeably more midrange+not loosing any top end. Quote
ellison445 Posted March 9, 2005 Report Posted March 9, 2005 Should work on this setup that JKJK said! Did you raise the clip (lowering the needle)?Or did you raise the needle (lowering the clip). Either way it looks like I'm gonna try the 310's. Now I just need to wait til my pipes come in. I bought a used set from another member (MGD) and I'm waiting for delivery. I bought the expansion chambers only. The T3 stinger/silencers should fit the t5's right? Quote
richybanshee Posted March 10, 2005 Report Posted March 10, 2005 Just put the T5's they should fit with the T3's stingers and silencers. Then make a test run and see how the shee feels, go easy the first time. Then make the WOT run in 5 or 6 gear for 3-5 seconds... you know the procedure. Chek the main jets, then the needle and finally the pilot. Look at this stock needle diagram: Quote
ellison445 Posted March 10, 2005 Report Posted March 10, 2005 I think your going to end up with a 290-300 main. And the T-5s will fit with the t-3 stingers! JKJK Posted March 11, 2005 Report Posted March 11, 2005 Do just what Richy+Ellesion are saying.I think i raised my clips, but you will have to experiment, test+tune for optimum pull. The stingers will work, the t5 ones are a little different though. If your not satisfied with the fit give me a holla,i do have a spare set of the correct ones.Did you have those t3's on a newer a arm bike?I could'nt get them to fit on anything other than j arm bikes.Your really going to like those pipes. Please let us know of the results. lincster Posted March 11, 2005 Report Posted March 11, 2005 What elevation? I am at sea level, run T5's with the Toomey 2:1 air filter. I run 370 mains with 30 pilots, toomey needles on the 4th position from the top. Don't jet down, that is crazy. the T5's are a better pipe than the T3. Quote
Bansheeman1121 Posted March 12, 2005 Report Posted March 12, 2005 Just wonderin if your t-3 silencers are for sale Quote

I'm gonna do a plug chop set up the way it is and go from there. Just wanted to make sure it was safe. If the stingers dont fit to my liking, you'll be gettin a PM. The pipes should arrive early this week. What elevation?I am at sea level, run T5's with the Toomey 2:1 air filter. I run 370 mains with 30 pilots, toomey needles on the 4th position from the top. I normally ride on State Trust Land just east of Mesa or at the Four Peaks area. 370 mains? Wow thats sounds kinda big. But then again every bike is different even with the same mods. Plus you ride at sea level. I've already bought some larger jets just in case . Just wonderin if your t-3 silencers are for sale 337793 Not for sale as of right now. But if they dont work, you'll be first in line. Quote
bansheefreestyler Posted March 14, 2005 Report Posted March 14, 2005 ive never seen t-3's do you think you could post a pik? Quote
2stroker Posted March 14, 2005 Author Report Posted March 14, 2005 ive never seen t-3's do you think you could post a pik? 338502 Dont have any pics that show a really good picture of it. If you do a search in the Images forum, you'll find some pics of T3's cut and uncut. Quote
lincster Posted March 15, 2005 Report Posted March 15, 2005 I never said 370 mains were too big. I have ran my shee like this for 4 seasons. It loves it. Quote
