So i installed a noss 19cc .. some v force 3 reeds... pod filters... 320 mains and have stock pilots and put needle in 4th clip...i put the gas can back on and the gas poured out the carbs .. i jumped on it real quick and fired it up...before that i used my hand to pump on the kick start just to make sure everything was going in motion...as i cranked on it a squeak sound came from the intake area.... i was thinkin its just the carbon reeds..(i now think it had a air leak)... well i hoped on the bike and kicked the sumbich over and it started first kick BUT it was runnin like i had the throttle pinned... WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!... so i killed it... tried it again 3 times..and it did the WOT everytime...so i tapped on the bottoms of the carbs to make sure the floats got unstuck... seems that was the problem...now it wont even start... i gave up last night since my girl was giving me the come hither look so i let the shee rest for the night and went to my other shee that was runnin.. haha... anyways it wont start now... :shrugani:

TELL ME IF ANY OF THESE COULD BE MY PROBLEM...

-TO RICH ON THE NEEDLE.. READJUST TO 2ND CLIP DUE TO V FORCE RAD VALVE CAUSING A RICHER MIXTURE

-ADJUST STOCK PILOT TO 30 FROM 25

-POS AIR LEAK FROM V FORCE INTAKE CAUSED BY NOT ENOUGH CUTT AWAY FROM STOCK RUBBER THAT SLIPS INTO STOCK REED CAGE

-FLOATS ARE STUCK CLOSED NOW AND NO FUEL IS GETTIN IN

-OR THE FACT THAT I USED 120 OCTANE BOOST TO FIRE IT UP RUNNIN 40:1

I CHECKED THE CHOKE TUBE AND MADE SURE ALL THE TUBES WERE CONNECTED... GUESS I'LL CHECK AGAIN. ALTHOUGH WHEN I DID CONNECT THE TORS SYSTEM ONTO TO THE TOP OF THE CARBS I DIDNT PUT THEM ON REALLY TIGHT JUST SNUG... ANYONE THINK THAT THEY NEED TO BE ON TIGHT..?

I think you should buy a TORS eliminator kit...If it's not your problem now, it will be a problem later. I would try disconnecting the TORS unit (unplugging it) and see if that fixes your issue. Also, the carb tops should be tight. If they're not, air could get through there and cause a lean condition, which could be the reason for your banshee to skyrocket

Not sure if you mentioned it but first thing I would determine is do you have spark?

I DIDNT CHECK FOR SPARK BUT I DID TAKE THE PLUGS OFF AND CHECKED THEM FOR FOULING.. HAD MINIMAL OIL ON THEM... NOTHIN GROTESCH...

I AM UNAWARE OF HOW TO UNPLUG THE TORS SYSTEM.. THOUGHT THE WHOLE TOP PART OF THE CARB.. THOSE BIG BULKY THINGS THAT ADJUST MY SLIDES WERE THE "TORS" ...

They are but there is a box that controls them. I can't remember which one it is simply because my banshee never had the TORS, they were removed when I bought it. I know someone else can chime in and advise you better on what you need to unplug...

On a side note though, if you know you have an airleak, I wouldn't mess with getting it running until you have fixed it. If you run it and it still has an airleak, you could really lean out that cylinder and say good-bye to your top end

Definitely either eliminate the TORS or at the very least tighten the tops. You can disable the TORS system by unplugging the control box, mounted to a frame rail just above the left cylinder.

If you've got pipes I'd go straight to 30 pilots, and start with the airscrews 1.5 to 2 turns out. I'd also double check for air leaks at the reed cages. Good luck.

VERY TRUE... I THINK ITS CUZ I DIDNT TIGHTEN THEM ENOUGH DUE TO THE FACT I DIDNT WANT TO STRIP THE JUG... HAHA I SAID JUG... OR THE FACT THAT I DIDNT DREMMEL ENOUGH OF THE OLD RUBBER OFF THE STOCK INTAKE HOUSING/CARB HOUSING. I KNOW THAT PART IS A EASY FIX... JUST TRYIN TO FIGURE OUT WHY THE DAMN THING WAS WOT WHEN I FIRED IT UP AND NOW NOTHING... ALTHOUGH A SIGN OF LEAN IS A HIGH IDLE AND THATS WHERE I NEED TO ADJUST MY PILOT... IM NEEDING SOMEONE TO CONCUR!! LOL ;)

Yeah, stock pilot with your mods does sound kinda lean...Check your dealer and see if they have them, if not, I'll check and see if I have some and if I do, I'll mail em to ya for next to nothing. But, even when you get the pilots squared away, I would try and resolve that issue with the air leak around your carb / reeds...you shouldn't have to dremel anything on your intake boots at all.

i used a saw to cut off the rubber and then used the dremmel to clean up excess crap.. man if you have some freggin 30 pilots.. that would be awesome  ... i have called 5 dealerships around here and they are all on the 7-10 day band wagon. i only have this weekend to get er ready for the dunes on easter weekend.. im booked up on workin on the shee till the dunes hit and there isnt anything worse then being out on a trip and having to work on a bike

When I get home at 4:30pm (central time) I'll look in my bag-o-jets and see if I still have a pair of 30 pilots (I should). If I do, I'll shoot you a PM and mail them out to you tonight. Or, if you get this before 4, send me a PM with your address and If I do have them I'll mail them out today so hopefully they'll be there before the weekend.

The 30 pilot may not be the answer to your problem but we can at least try!
