BigRed350x Posted March 2, 2005 Report Posted March 2, 2005 I was riding down an alley today and my throttle just got stuck wide open like 10ft before the street. Had to shut it off to stop. When I shut it off I can run the throttle and hear both slides go up and click when I drop the throttle. Soon as I start it up it gets stuck wide open again. What the heck is going on? Did I get water in there some how and its freezing? (It is pretty damn cold outside) I remember reading something about this in a jetting article on here one time, but can't find it. Help! Quote

Ducman Posted March 2, 2005 Report Posted March 2, 2005 Choke tube fell off? Massive air leak? Did you look into the intake to verify that both carb slides are actually comming down? Quote
richybanshee Posted March 2, 2005 Report Posted March 2, 2005 (edited) Possible causes: 1. Check if the caps are not loose. 2. Probably while doing some jetting you bent one of the needles. 3. Damaged throttle cable. Edited March 2, 2005 by richybanshee Quote
mat Posted March 2, 2005 Report Posted March 2, 2005 Did you recently install a new throttle cable or TORS removal kit? After installing the new carb tops that come with a TORS removal kit I had a throttle sticking problem. I had the cables adjusted so that the slides would pull up into the carb tops. The slides would occasionally stick in the gasket for the carb top. I re-adjusted my cables so that the slides didn't go so far up. Problem solved. Quote

Problem solved. 332395[/snapback] Had my throttle hang up one year in Little Sahara. The problem was the throttle cable.Look at the cable where it it goes from one to two.The two cables will slide out and hang you up.Make sure they are both in the main cable and wrap them to the main cable with electrical tape. The problem shouldn't come back.Good luck. BigRed350x Posted March 10, 2005 Author Report Posted March 10, 2005 Thanks guys. After that one day I never had a problem with it again. I think I just got some moisture in there and it was freezing. It was a cold-ass day. Thanks for the help though. Quote
