Yesterday when I was trying to pull off my flywheel, my puller decided that it wasn't going to go in straight and I forced it on thinking that it was tight because it was a new puller. As I tried to pull it off, the puller popped off and the threads on it were stripped. The threads on the flywheel seem to look fine, but not quite sure. Is the puller suppose to go on tight or not? What do I need to do to get this to work. If my flywheel threads are stripped, how am I going to get it off then? banghead

Clean out the threads in the flywheel with a dental pick or a small wire brush in your dremel tool and make sure the threads on the puller are good. It should screw right in.

I stripped one that I had on a ricky stator flywheel, it was a cheapo, I screwed it in straight but it was hard cranking and only got about 4 threads in. I replaced it with the more expensive one from Dennis Kirk I think it was like $15 and it might have been a motion pro. I contacted RS and they said you should put grease on it before you screw it into their wheel, after I got the new puller and greased it, it went right in by hand.

also use some lube!!I had the same problem I use some lube and treaded the puller on like I was tapping the hole back and forth. The puller went all the way on by finger by doing this.
