BansheeNigg Posted February 22, 2005 Report Posted February 22, 2005 My 1990 shee has been bored .80 over with weisco pistons, boost bottle, pro circiut pipes n silencers. now that its winter its running REALLY hot and backfiring, so i pulled the carbs today and it has 200's and 25's. What do u reccomend i buy to get her running good? By the way the average temp around here is 30 degrees so keep that in mind too. Thanks Quote
blk02banshee Posted February 22, 2005 Report Posted February 22, 2005 wow, you should be at least in the 300 range and maybe even a size up on the pilots, unless you're waayyy up in the mountains. Are you running stock air filter? Quote
rocketboy Posted February 22, 2005 Report Posted February 22, 2005 id guess 27.5 pilots 300 mains needle in middle, do a plug chop then report back Quote
banshdog Posted February 22, 2005 Report Posted February 22, 2005 id guess 27.5 pilots 300 mains needle in middle, do a plug chop then report back 327582[/snapback] sounds like a good starting point. my mods listed in sig., i have 320 mains and 30 pilots. shee is on the rich side, but your 200 mains have to be way lean. where are you riding at? 05bansh Posted February 22, 2005 Report Posted February 22, 2005 Waaaaaaaaaaaaaay to lean!! Jet up man!! Start about 300 on the mains and 27.5 on the pilots like everyone else has said. You will notice a huge difference in how much better shee runs after you get her jetted right. Quote
richybanshee Posted February 22, 2005 Report Posted February 22, 2005 (edited) Way lean .. that is why the shee overheats and backfires. If airbox lid is on, snorkle removed, probably 280-300 mains and 27.5 pilots. If airboxlid is off, 300 or more, 27.5 - 30 pilots. This is a great STARTING POINT, I can not predict the correct jetting. You may have to do some test before you get it right. Edited February 22, 2005 by richybanshee Quote
sheefreak Posted February 22, 2005 Report Posted February 22, 2005 You are lucky it still runs at all , suggestions above all look pretty good for starters. Quote
Banchetta Posted February 24, 2005 Report Posted February 24, 2005 LIke everyone else suggested. 300mains, and 30 pilots...run it too long like that and you'll be changing pistons and rings also. Quote
