thesheekilz Posted February 19, 2005 Report Posted February 19, 2005 will the clutch still work if a prong is broken off of the basket where the plates go? what about the o-ring on the back of the basket? Quote
fromygod Posted February 19, 2005 Report Posted February 19, 2005 u might be ok with out the o ring, but if that basket is missing a "prong" u definately need a new one. at the very least the basket would be completely out of balance, plus not holding the plates in alignment, witch is kind of the purpose of those prongs Quote
boonman Posted February 19, 2005 Report Posted February 19, 2005 Yup, and it's only matter of time untill others break off. And in a case I have personally witnessed,a piece of a broken ear got lodged in the crank seal, and the engine was ingesting huge amounts of tranny oil. Big mess. Quote
