rjvoight Posted February 18, 2005 Report Posted February 18, 2005 The plan was to simply replace the spring and bearing in the kickstart lever so it did not rattle. Of course nothing is ever easy for me so I went to take the screw out, the phillips at the base of the lever, it is so freaking tight I could not turn it. Long story short, I stripped the hell out of the head of the screw. Any tips on getting it out now? Thanks for any input. RJV PS: Anyone have a stock lever laying around they want to sell? Quote
No Limit Powersports Posted February 18, 2005 Report Posted February 18, 2005 impact driver If that don't work take a piece of angle or something and drill a hole slightly smaller than the head and set it on top of the bolt head and weld the bolt to the plate and simple unscrew! Quote
Holyman Posted February 18, 2005 Report Posted February 18, 2005 WAIT Tak the kicker off the bike and clamp it in the vise. DO NOT drill out the head of the screw. Get a 3/16 drill bit and drill out the screw from the back. Then use a chisel and unscrew the screw. If you can't get it, send it to me along with $5 and I will rebuild it and I will guarantee it will work better than new. email me if you need more details... [email protected] Quote
kenr74 Posted February 18, 2005 Report Posted February 18, 2005 Send it to Holyman. Best $5 I've ever spent. Quote
Guest nightmare Posted February 18, 2005 Report Posted February 18, 2005 I sent my kickstart to IHRBearings. Best thing I ever did. My Banshee is rattle free. I think he uses my quote on his ebay listings. Very good deal. Quote

RNBRAD Posted February 18, 2005 Report Posted February 18, 2005 Yep did mine, was a piece of cake. Though my screw wasn't stuck. Takes about 10 minutes to do once you've done it already. Mine took a little longer cause I installed it and it wasn't as stiff as I wanted so I installed a larger thicker top spring. Walla no more raddle. Quote
rjvoight Posted March 3, 2005 Author Report Posted March 3, 2005 Holyman, got my kickstarter back today. Thanks, it looks great and no more rattle. It is better than I thought it would be. Hopefully I can put something useful on here for you sometime. In the meantime, I will send people to your e-bay add for the mod. It is well worth the money. Thanks again. RJV Quote
Holyman Posted March 3, 2005 Report Posted March 3, 2005 Thanks for the props bro. If you or anyone else has a problem with my kicker mod, let me know. Quote
PUSH THE THROTTLE Posted March 4, 2005 Report Posted March 4, 2005 Got my kicker back from Holyman the other day, haven't tried it on the bike yet but it sure seems smooth, definitely worth it. Thanks Holyman. Quote
