H250RHATER Posted February 15, 2005 Author Report Posted February 15, 2005 does anyone know how to prevent the plugs from coming loose????? Quote
1800bigk Posted February 16, 2005 Report Posted February 16, 2005 (edited) with proper torque they shouldn't come loose, but trinity sells this thing that goes on top of your plugs and prevents them from backing out. Edited February 16, 2005 by 1800bigk Quote
SuperChris Posted February 16, 2005 Report Posted February 16, 2005 Recheck your squish, make sure your domes don't have any sharp points, make sure your ignition isn't advanced to far and make sure you aren't running to lean. Any of these things may cause detonation. A properly torqued plug seated in GOOD threads will not come out of a running motor unless it is detonating. The Trinity piece is a good way of making sure that the detonation sticks around long enuph to cause major catastrophic failure. Hope you get it figured out. Sucks to hear about somebody not able to ride because of something so simple as a plug coming out. Quote
BdBanshee Posted February 16, 2005 Report Posted February 16, 2005 I always torque mine to 12.5 ft. pounds, never had a problem. There is something wrong if it keeps happening to you. Quote
H250RHATER Posted February 16, 2005 Author Report Posted February 16, 2005 Thanks everybody for your suggestions, the problem was the threads in the domes are machined to loose.Jim at Passion racing diagnosed the problem. Thank again. Quote
