sp1tekiller Posted February 12, 2005 Report Posted February 12, 2005 I cant get it to stay running at all. It' takes forever to fire (10-20 kicks) and when it does i will run fine for 2-3 sec then die. Another 10-20 kicks and it will do the same. It is stock and my plugs are a golden brown colour. I don't know what to do. It is cold out though so I don't know if that has anything to do with it. (8 degrees celcius). Quote
sp1tekiller Posted February 13, 2005 Author Report Posted February 13, 2005 I just went out and tried again. The bike seems to be running on only the right cylinder. The Air filter is clean. Any suggestions? Quote
sp1tekiller Posted February 13, 2005 Author Report Posted February 13, 2005 Well, I pulled the plugs again and they were dark brown to black. They were also very wet. I used my thumb to see how much compression it's got and it almost blew my thumb to pieces. I put the plugs back in and it started up great and ran great for about 5 seconds then died. Now it's back to doing the same thing. I think it must be the cold. I'm just going to leave it till the warm weather comes now. Quote
J-Madd Posted February 13, 2005 Report Posted February 13, 2005 You may try adjusting the air screws. Also make sure the throttle is not stuck a little. If the slides are open enough, you'll never get it started. I had a similar problem with a throttle cable that was too short. Good luck. Quote
. Posted February 13, 2005 Report Posted February 13, 2005 choke out?, choke tube between the 2 carbs connected? Parking brake and Tors still connected?....could be a few different things. We'll narrow it down for you. Just give us information. I havent started mine in 4 months probably now, could go start it up within 10 kicks and it'd run just like the day I left it. Quote
FIRST BANSHEE Posted February 13, 2005 Report Posted February 13, 2005 I always turn my gas off when I park it and have no troubles when I go to restart. mine sat for 3 months and started and ran fine. your carbs might gummed up,try cleaning the carbs and a new set of plugs. Quote
