lastlegwarrior Posted February 9, 2005 Report Posted February 9, 2005 I've got a 2000 shee with a lightened flywheel, T-5's, +4 timing, clamp on K&N's, wiseco's .030 over, and hot rod crank. Not sure if any of that will help but i figured it couldn't hurt. About what octane would i need to run to be safe with 19cc domes? thanks. Quote
Capone Posted February 9, 2005 Report Posted February 9, 2005 I'm going through a detonation problem as we speak, be safe and if you're running 19's stick with 99 octane or higher... Quote
stclark816 Posted February 9, 2005 Report Posted February 9, 2005 When I was runnin 19cc domes and advanced timing, I was mixing 2 gallons of pump gas and 3 gallons of race fuel together. Seemed to work out ok for me. Quote
stu Posted February 9, 2005 Report Posted February 9, 2005 i burnt my motor out through detonation about 2 years ago..... shee was running 19cc domes and stock timing, using 98 octane and shee blew so id def go with 100 or higher with the timing advance also stu Quote
dlnoss Posted February 9, 2005 Report Posted February 9, 2005 I don't know what the elevation is in Boonville but I would recommend 104+ unless you are over 2000' to be safe. Fuel is cheap compared to detonation. Quote
