nickt5174 Posted February 8, 2005 Report Posted February 8, 2005 Whats up guys, maybe I can get some input for my new bike. I am doing a frame up build on an old 1988 banshee. I have the frame all done up and ready to go so now it's motor time! I am having the cylinders bored and honed. And a mild port job done. Im also redoing the clutch and installing a billet water pump impeller as well a fresh top end when I get the cylinders back. I will be putting a cool head on it with DG piped and silencers. My question is do I have to worry about the bottem end. The crank and crank bearings seem to be fine with no play but I kbnow that the bottem end has never been serviced before. Will all these mods that i am doing, do my stock bottom end in? Quote
kenr74 Posted February 8, 2005 Report Posted February 8, 2005 If you have an extra $200 I would pull it apart and replace all the bearings and have the crank welded. Sounds like perfect time to freshen up before you HAVE to tear it apart when something dies. Quote
Yamaholic in va. Posted February 9, 2005 Report Posted February 9, 2005 [Had a buddy with a stocker for 7 years, still running same crank. My bike fully modified has been through 2 race cranks....] Quote
