littlemikey4u Posted February 7, 2005 Report Posted February 7, 2005 My banshee isn't as fast as it used to be and I have no idea why? It used to be able to do wheelies with ease in third gear now I cant even do them. my bike back fires a little bit throughout the power band. I haven't done any major changes that would cause it to lose so much power. I assumed that it might have been an electrical problem since it was backfiring and already inspected the jets and carbs. I switched the coil, cdi, stator with a friend of mine and it didn't help. My bike now is slightly slower than a banshee with pipes and dual clamp ons, but faster than a stock banshee. Any help would be appreciated so I can have more fun by this presidents day at dumont Quote
stclark816 Posted February 7, 2005 Report Posted February 7, 2005 Ur clutch may be toast. When you are in third gear or any gear, and hit it WOT, does it feel like the rear tires are spinning? Quote
FIRST BANSHEE Posted February 7, 2005 Report Posted February 7, 2005 I agree about the clutch, but also think your running alittle lean. you shouldn't be backfiring through the powerband. also at 100 over you might be running hot. Quote
mat Posted February 7, 2005 Report Posted February 7, 2005 Have you checked your compression lately? How about a leak down test? I agree with what was stated before, the backfire could be caused by a lean condition, such as an air leak. The leak down test will tell you if this is the problem. Quote
Im-Loving-It 69 Posted February 7, 2005 Report Posted February 7, 2005 As for the power loss i would have to say you might want to take a look at you clutch. Sounds like the same problem i was having. but for the back firing i would have to go with what was said Quote
