1800bigk Posted February 3, 2005 Report Posted February 3, 2005 anybody know where to get a case saver that will fit with a 17 tooth front sprocket without modification? The ones on ebay are only good to a 15 and the modquad ones dont say. Quote
fixitrod Posted February 3, 2005 Report Posted February 3, 2005 They are just plastic. I imagine you could cut one. It wouldn't save much with a smaller sprocket after you mod it though. Quote
Leadfoot350 Posted February 3, 2005 Report Posted February 3, 2005 Ya you will have to trim it to fit. Quote
1800bigk Posted February 3, 2005 Author Report Posted February 3, 2005 If I trim it to fit a 17, will that make it less able to save the case? I mean, since I have to remove material from the case saver, will that weaken it? I already bought one, and I will run a 15 to be safe, but I would like to run a 17. tia Quote
fixitrod Posted February 3, 2005 Report Posted February 3, 2005 (edited) I think you'd be okay. The reason, I believe, they make it to small for a 17 is so if you run a 15 the chain won't be able to bind up in there. The idea is to keep the chain rolling through and not to bind. EDIT Bind meaning buch up and crack the case. Edited February 3, 2005 by fixitrod Quote
