dawgfan Posted January 31, 2005 Report Posted January 31, 2005 I'm waiting on my T-5's to get here. Was about to order my jets and K&N when I found a couple of good prices on some 2 into1 intakes and 38mm carb with K&N on-carb filter. My question is would this be too much for a stock motor? If not, will it really make that much difference on my bike or should I just rejet my stock pair and spend the money elsewhere? I will be ordering new reeds also-either Delta 2 or TRD's........ Quote
Wallrat Posted January 31, 2005 Report Posted January 31, 2005 38 is pretty big. It would work but the bottom end is gonna be choppy. Most people that go single carb use a 33mm for stock porting or a 35mm if they have/are getting some porting done. Quote
FIRST BANSHEE Posted January 31, 2005 Report Posted January 31, 2005 I have all bolt on mods, pipes, reeds, milled head, +4 timing, cv intake with a 38mm. I had a 35 on it and a 38 for my 250r, so i tried it and kept the 38 on the banshee. It's a little softer on the bottom but pulls better on top. I'm happy with it. Quote
dawgfan Posted January 31, 2005 Author Report Posted January 31, 2005 Sorry guys, it is a 33mm, my bad, was up real late...... Quote
Wallrat Posted January 31, 2005 Report Posted January 31, 2005 Ah no worries then. Although you might wanna hold out for a 35 if your planning on getting it ported. Not gonna make a huge difference but if you get ported and run a 33 you might lose a hair off the top. Quote
locogato11283 Posted January 31, 2005 Report Posted January 31, 2005 u might be able to have a 33 bored to 35. i had a 39 bored to 40 one time... Quote
