01bansheefox Posted January 28, 2005 Report Posted January 28, 2005 Does the width matter really? I ordered some new tires 18x11x10 sooo I need a 10x10 or what? Quote
banshee tuner Posted January 28, 2005 Report Posted January 28, 2005 No the width is not that critical, it will just give you extra rim protection. Quote
sredish Posted January 28, 2005 Report Posted January 28, 2005 the last number is the diameter of the rim and that has to be, but the width is something that you can get based upon your needs. You want a wheel that's narrower than the tire because it helps 1) to keep the bead on the wheel at lower pressures and 2) protect the wheel from the tire bulge. Typically, a rear would be 10x8 and a front would be 10x5. I prefer a 9" rear wheel, but that's me. MX'ers like an 8" wheel. Quote
01bansheefox Posted January 28, 2005 Author Report Posted January 28, 2005 sooooo 10x8 or 10x9 will work.......... Quote
