Brian060 Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 hey guys, I went out riding today in my yard for 20 minutes or so. Right when i was about the put the banshee away it died. It was nearly impossible to kick start, and when it was pop started it would bog big time and then just die. Before it completely died it was bogging big time, and then stalled. Also, after pop starting it there was barely any exhaust coming out of my left pipe. Could this have been a blown piston, gasket, fouled spark plug or what. Any USEFUL replies would be greatly appreciated!!! Also, its about 20-30 degrees here. Is it possible that it could've blown due to improper jetting? BTW it wasnt idling either, yet when i test rode it, it would idle. The test ride was in 40 degree weather too. Whats the problem? please reply ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
SICK BOY Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 You have to rejet it for colder weather.Do a compression test and see what you get. Quote
fixitrod Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 Put some gas in it Do a compression test. Quote
. Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 is the ebrake and tors still on the bike? get a compression tester.....you should have one anyway you might be having an electrical problem Quote
Brian060 Posted January 20, 2005 Author Report Posted January 20, 2005 THe e brake is off but the TORs is still on. if i am able to start it it would not idle by itself. If i give it a little gas it'll rev up but any more than 1/3 throttle and it bogs, dies, and cant be started. Im gonna do a compression test but PLEASE keep the info coming!! Quote
Brian060 Posted January 20, 2005 Author Report Posted January 20, 2005 Also, could it be reeds? I need help ASAP!!! Quote

Look on the left side of the tank, toward the front of the tank & you'll see a little box there with a connector on it, disconnect that connector & try it. Quote
r6rider04 Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 yeah i'm with zep right in front of the fuel shut off above the left side spark plug, mine had the same symptoms and unpluging the tors fixed it Quote
Wallrat Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 Could be you're only running on one cylinder too. You're gonna need a compression tester no matter what so you might as well buy one now. Quote
Brian060 Posted January 21, 2005 Author Report Posted January 21, 2005 Thanks guys it was the tors. What does a tors eliminator kit do? Quote
. Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 it gets rid of all that junk gives you a new throttle cable and new carb caps, and an idle adjustment screw and a drill and tap to drill the carb for the idle screw Quote
