stockridinshee Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 Ive heard when you change the oil to take it all out put gas in there to clean it and then empty and then put new in. But that kinda sounds weird to me, any imput on that? And what oil should i use? thanks in advance. Quote
kenr74 Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 Well, that is a new one for me. Running gas through there might clean up some areas that could get gummed up with old oil but I'm not sure what it would do to your clutch fibers. I've been into my cases a few times and have never found anything that needed to be flushed out though. I use regular old ATF and change it every other ride. Quote
ledofthezep Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 I wouldn't do that myself. On a stock clutch, 10w30 motor oil will work just fine. Aftermarket, don't use motor oil. I'm currently running 80w BelRay Gear Saver; no complaints & smoother shifts. Quote
05bansh Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 never heard that one. I will flush my tranny by running a little extra oil through it while it is draining sometimes. Quote

ledofthezep Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 Ah hell...just drain the oil & stick a water hose in there, crank that shit on & go watch some TV...a good 30min oughta do the trick. Quote
FIRST BANSHEE Posted January 22, 2005 Report Posted January 22, 2005 I change my oil after two hard rides, just drain and refill. I use klotz flex drive 30 I don't use the hose idea any more my water bill was getting to high Quote
