ellison445 Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 Looking to give my shee some more power I was going to get a Noss Head with 21cc domes and some Vforce reeds, or should I go with some port work. I got some snow heading my way so the down time is nothing, plus I just picked up a stock 03 I can play around with. As of now, only performance stuff I have on it is T-5s and a toomey 2into1 and a bunch of billet. I only use it for trail ridding and wheelies. Quote
ledofthezep Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 I'd go with the heads & new reeds if I were you; then port later. Just MHO... Quote
RNBRAD Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 Heads and new reeds will cost you as much as a port job and not even come close to giving you the power per dollar you spend. Just a thought. Quote

05bansh Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 (edited) $219.00 at rockymountain http://www.rockymountainatv.com/Machine_De...ar=2005&status= But I would port for sure! before you spend you $ on reeds. Edited January 20, 2005 by 05bansh Quote
BigRed350x Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 I'd go with the port work. You will get reasonable gains even with the stock head and reeds, then later when you have more money you can get the heads and reeds and really wake it up. Quote
ellison445 Posted January 20, 2005 Author Report Posted January 20, 2005 Problem is there on backorder at Rockymountain and everyplace else I look. Has anyone tried the V-force 3s yet? How do they compare to the V-2's? As of right now I think Im going to go with the port work and reeds! $219.00 at rockymountain http://www.rockymountainatv.com/Machine_De...ar=2005&status= 309403[/snapback] Quote
Wallrat Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 What are you planning on doing down the road? If you think there's a chance that you might go stroker sometime then you should wait on the porting. Quote
ellison445 Posted January 20, 2005 Author Report Posted January 20, 2005 I cant say no because everytime I say thats it with this bike, I end up throwing for money into it . Im not sure at this point what direction I will be going in, but I want some more power at this point. What type of port should I go with? I was going to go with a Gorr port but Im not sure. chris642 Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 if we ever go riding before you tear it down you can ride my bike with a passion port job and see how you like it. let me tell you, the trails at jersey city are alot easier with the port job, mines a bottom end dune port since i ride alot of sandpits in south jersey and do trails. its also alot faster on top! BigRed350x Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 I did my own port on a spare set of jugs and I am very satisfied with how it turned out. I got a stensil pattern from macdizzy and just went from there. I have a set of jugs with a passion port and I can't tell much of a difference between the set I did myself and those. Quote
