r6rider04 Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 Right now i have a fresh 4mm stroker bored 30 over, mild port/ polish, toomey t5's, proflow/k&n filter set up, reed spacers, and barnet clutches... I'm thinking of a Noss head or V-force reeds, what do you guys think, can only afford one at this time which is more worth while or i'm open to other options too.. On the subject of the Noss head what domes are recommended with these mods I live between 0-600 feet above sea level thanks guys.. Brian Quote
dlnoss Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 Brian, What fuel are you running? Is your stroker spaced on bottom or top? Quote
05bansh Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 I would do the noss head over the reeds anyday. Quote
Wallrat Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 If you were running on a stock port/stroke engine I'd say the head was probably a better way to go. I figure that since you've got added stroke in addition to the added air/fuel flow of the porting, your stock reeds are probably holding your engine back from it's true potential. Also if you had your stock head cut as opposed to running a spacer plate you probably have higher compression already so your gains would be less by switching heads. The added stroke will add compression regardless. So my vote would be for some V-forces. Quote

dlnoss Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 Some of the stroker 'kits' have incorrect squish clearance (some are fine). If you check that and the compression with your stock head you can get a better idea of how much performance can be increased with a head and some stroker domes. Quote

. Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 it all comes down to what kind of reeds you have now? If stock I'd ditch them and get some reeds and a timing plate. If they are some dual stage reeds, go with the head Quote
r6rider04 Posted January 20, 2005 Author Report Posted January 20, 2005 thanks guys i guess this month will be reeds, eventually i'll get all the things i want Quote
