Well, I managed to break my lower ball joint on the front right a-arm. I know nothing really about suspension, so my question to you is can this be repaired or am I gonna have to replace something? I included some pics of my problem, basically the ball detached from the lower a-arm, and the ball is still bolted to the control arm. I'm just glad I wasn't riding the bastard when this happened! Any advice or help is GREATLY appreciated! Thanks

unfortunently yamaha really screwed us over with the ball joints. They are not removable and you cant replace them. You are the only person I have ever met that can manage to remove a stock balljoint, good jobb buddy. Anyways, ya you have to get a new A Arm. just get it off ebay and save yourself some cash.

I did the same thing on my old banshee same side and arm. You have to get a new a-arm they can't be fixed. I have a set of stock chrome a-arms with lowering mounts and sway-bar tabs welded on. Let me know.

I was doing some reading in the clymers late last night and found out I broke something that can't be fixed... banghead lol, I'm real good at doing things like this, it seems like when I break something it's never the simple stuff...

I appreciate the help!

same thing happened to me on a snow ride. Ball pulled right out of the socket. It can be replaced pretty easily, first get urself the correct a arm as all 4 are unique. i made a seperator for the ball joints, hell i diddnt even have to make it just piece it together at the hardware store.Find a 1/2 in collar, like the kind for joining threaded rod together, its hex shaped on the outside. and a short 1/2 in bolt with the same size threads. pull the cotter pins and remove BOTH nuts and brake line place the head of the bolt on the bad ball joint and the bottom of that collar should go over the upper balljoint bolt and press against the knuckle, expand the tool with wrenches untill its tight. u might have to give the steering knuckle a light rap with a small hammer while its under tension, and the ball/tapershaft should pop right out. then the pivot bolts then the shock. check the forsale section for an a arm. lots of people have gone to the +2 setups and just got em layin around. Good luck. I hope some of this is usefull to u. Clymers is a great supplement. Oh yea pickup some DOT4 u need to pull a brake line off. Ur lucky it diddnt come undone on u while u were haulin ass. Cause it hurts GET R DONE!!!!
