g_low0885 Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 i want to get a +4 long rod crank and want to know if you have to use the wiseco 795 pistons or can you use the vitos if you used to space plate, the thicker base gasket, or cut the head deeper? Quote
locogato11283 Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 the best way to do this is run 795 series pistons with cut domes. i would stay away form the spacer plate. with the longrod you have to run the 795 series pistons. but i would def go for custom cut domes.. Quote

fixitrod Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 I suppose you could use a 5mm plate along with the domes for the stroker. The long rods won't change port timing, just move the position of them. That's why you use the 5mm plate. Now a 4mm stroke increase will change things. You'll need some porting for that and something to make up the extra 2mm increase in stroke each way. Domes or another spacer plate would accomplish that. Now, if a builder really wanted to increase the transfer volume, that may be a nice way to do it, but that's have to be worked out. Not a lot of since in it though unless you already have them or something. Why would you want to do that when you can just buy the 795's. Quote
