NYCBanshee7 Posted January 9, 2005 Report Posted January 9, 2005 I'm running 310 mains, 32.5 pilots, and needle clip at 3rd notch at sealevel. My bike has FMF Fatty's, V-force 2's and open airbox. It runs great, but I forgot to move the clip to the 4th position. Am I losing horsepower or what? Quote
sredish Posted January 9, 2005 Report Posted January 9, 2005 The only way to get the full potential of your mods/motor is to properly jet it. Considering it takes just a few short minutes to change the clip to the 4th position, I'd sure try it. It might make the difference in how the midrange pulls. I ran the 4th in mine with twin carbs and it worked best. Often a machine jetted on the lean side of the line will run great, but be lacking in power just a bit, so moving the clip might make more of a difference than you'd realize. Give it a try and tell us how much hp your are or are not losing. Quote

Ducman Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 32.5's are pretty big pilots your probably better on 3rd clip. I had FMF & 30's and i liked the 3rd clip better. Others seem to like the 4th clip better. Never hurts to try it though. Quote
Banchetta Posted January 11, 2005 Report Posted January 11, 2005 Funny you said that, I just pulled my pyramid reeds out and put in some v-force, now my pilots are way too lean.....so I'm guessing that v-forces need larger pilots?????? But I'm also running a stroker.....like sredish said, you want the best jetting....trial and error, try it. Quote

It's still on the rich side in the summertime. When I tried different positions on my needles, it went from one extreme to the other, going 1 up or 1 down. I ended up back in the middle. I need to find some small washers, so I can get that "1/2 clip" position. Quote
