Whether you need race fuel or not is dependant upon your compression and partly by timing. With 20cc domes, you may or may not need it, depending upon your elevation.

Run a compression check. If it's over 160 with your timing, I'd run 100 octane, if its 155, then you shouldn't have a problem, but it wouldn't be a bad idea. If it's much over 160, then you might wanna run 104 or higher. That's the rule of thumb I go by. There are some that may run 165 and +4 timing, and use 93. They may not have a problem, but it's too close to me, one hot day or an air leak with lean jetting could be the difference of blowing your piston into bits... just my opinion.

Late.

EDIT: I have 160 lbs. and +7 timing. I run 104 w/ 4.5% oxygen. Better safe than sorry.

I agree completly, you just went through the engine, if your at 160 psi and advanced run race fuel.

well i will check compression monday if its near 160 i may set the timing bask to zero so that it will be safe because i have no idea where to buy race gas and really don't want the hassle everytime i go ride

i ran 20cc with +4 timing with 158 psi of compression with no problem the pistons looked good. thats with 91 octane the best you can get in ks.

just a thought.

yea, you can run a 50/50 mix if your borderline as well. I never do that because I'm too lazy and just didn't think of that.

You can get race fuel at most race shops and some dealerships. just get the phone book out and call some local performance shops, dealerships and such to find some. I live in smalltown hicksville and there's like 3 places close by I can get it, so I'm sure you can find some.

don't know if this is true, i've been told that av-gas has oxygen in it. I never looked in to it. I know it's alot cheaper
