It is better then jut the Dot rating. Also something to keep in mind. A helmet is really only made to take 1 good impact. So I personally don' tsee any reason in spending a ton on a helmet. As long as it has the snell rating on it I don;t care who made it or how cheap it is. Check ebay you can save a ton there. But DON"T buy used!! Quote
