quadfever54 Posted January 3, 2005 Report Posted January 3, 2005 Does anyone know where to get the rubber dust covers for the mounting bolt on the rear caliper. The bolt is seized to the caliper, but turns free on the mounting bracket. I polished the caliper and because I could not get the bracket off I tore one of the dust covers while polishing on the wheel. I went to oem site and they say you have to replace the whole caliper if dust seals are bad. I have a hard time replacing the whole thing for two little rubber covers. Plus now I have all teh work of poishing it also. any one know where to go from here????? Quote
cb67rs1 Posted January 3, 2005 Report Posted January 3, 2005 probably best to find someone with an old one and get it off there from them Quote
RNBRAD Posted January 3, 2005 Report Posted January 3, 2005 Go to the hardware store and buy some thick rubber bushing. May have to do a Little trimiing to fit, but I had to do the exazt soem thing on one of mine. Damn boot was stuck to the bolt and spun in 2 pieces. Some larger diameter gas line will work also. Just cut the length needed and slide a piece in front and back of the bolt. Should help keep the dirt out. Quote
