BrianEb Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 The guy from Magic Racing in Michigan said the SRP Metals steering dampner is the same one as the rebuildable Denton Racing Dampner has to offer. Just wondering if anybody has been running the SRP Metals Steering Dampner and if they like it. What are the people in this forum using? PEP, Denton, Gibson, SRP Metals Quote

Only thing I don't like is the mounting, a total PITA for me to mount, tho others don't seem to have the same trouble. It works pretty well like I said, and the adjustability is good. I just finished rebuilding my banshee and I actually haven't put it back on yet and I rode the other weekend pretty hard, and really missed it. My arms were really feeling all the extra jerking around. I'm actually interested in upgrading to a GPR bar mounted, but they don't make it for the aftmkt stem I have. They're coming out with a new style pretty soon and I might get that one, it has a remote adjuster on the bars by your clutch hand for ont the fly adjustments without moving your hand. But, if I get my Denton mounted back on, then I might just keep using it seeing as I'm too lazy to take it back off. Conclusion: I'd never be without a steering dampener, period. Quote

fixitrod Posted December 28, 2004 Report Posted December 28, 2004 I have a cheap dampner also like the ones your talking about. Actually I'm thinking shredish and I got ours within a week of each other. PITA to mount. At first I didn't think it did much. On flat perfect terrain it won't benefit much. It's the ruts and terrain that grabs the wheels that it helps on. I notice it big time in the mud and in the snow. Now, there are much much better ones. Blueduece has been lucky enough to try out a couple brands. I think he said he's running a scotts now $450, but it works so well that he can't remember if he through his other one away or not.. lol. bansheeigo Posted December 28, 2004 Report Posted December 28, 2004 I have a Denton Racing rebuiltable stablizer on my she,it work great, heres some pics. Quote
sredish Posted December 29, 2004 Report Posted December 29, 2004 Thanks for those pics... I have to figure out how to remount mine now. The different pipes I have now don't allow for the mounting method I used before. I have yet been able to mount it under the rad and to the front like that, but I'll try again... Quote
