banshee76179 Posted December 23, 2004 Report Posted December 23, 2004 Throttle overide system Its a safety feature thatf the carbs stick open (throttle valve will not close) during engine operation, removing your thumbfrom the throttlelever will cause tors system to shut off the ignition syst. immeddiatley.. straight from the clymer Chris Quote
05bansh Posted December 23, 2004 Report Posted December 23, 2004 How much does the TORS actually restrict your top rpm? Is it worth taking off? Quote
boonman Posted December 24, 2004 Report Posted December 24, 2004 It doesn't restrict your top RPM. It is not a performance gain. Most people remove them for the sake of easier jetting, and the fact that the system acts up quite frequently.... Quote

I read on another thread about some places selling TORS removal kits? Have you heard of this? If so where can a kit be purchased? Quote
williamjernigan Posted December 25, 2004 Report Posted December 25, 2004 I just got mine from magicracing.com I just got mine installed and it was straight foward and simple. I ran into what I thought was a problem, but I just forgot to unplug a freakin wire. Oh yeah, it is way more easy to work on your carbs or rejet without that tors crap. After I installed mine I changed the jets the next day and I didn't have to take off the pipes. They save weight time, and that = more and faster riding. GET IT. Quote
05bansh Posted December 25, 2004 Report Posted December 25, 2004 How long did it take you to put the kit on? Quote
williamjernigan Posted December 25, 2004 Report Posted December 25, 2004 For a first timer it took me about 2 hours. That was with having to go get some carb cleaner and a few other things. Even if you have no experience it should only take you about 2 hours at the most. Just take your time when you grind material off the carbs, make sure you grind enough, and take your time when you clean them out. If you need any other assistance during your work just hit us up or pm me and I will get you through it. Quote
05bansh Posted December 26, 2004 Report Posted December 26, 2004 Sweet! Thanks! I will be getting the kit from magicracing in the next month or two. Quote
