y2kbanshee9187 Posted December 23, 2004 Report Posted December 23, 2004 The shee was running fine earlier in the day, we got some snow and rain and freezing rain(this was while I drove it in the back of the truck). Then I take it out again when its a little colder(20's) and there is a lot of snow, let it warm up and all and it wants to bog down and stall whenever the powerband isnt kicked in. So it either bogs down or stalls. Dont know what the deal is. Any suggestions?, this is my first winter with it but I have heard of people runnig it in colder weather than this right? thanks in advance Quote
KRMit Posted December 23, 2004 Report Posted December 23, 2004 You probably need to richen up your jetting somewhere... probably your needles or mains. Quote
sheefreak Posted December 23, 2004 Report Posted December 23, 2004 Try raising your needle one notch, and you may want to give your airscrews a turn in or so depending on where they are set, maybe even go up one on the pilot. If you are running the same main jets in 20 degrees as in the summer time, you may want to go up possibly 2 sizes on those, you are probably running lean all the way around. Quote
Ryda85 Posted December 23, 2004 Report Posted December 23, 2004 alot of guys will jet for like 60 degress with out a lid on, then when the cold comes just throw the lid on Quote
05bansh Posted December 23, 2004 Report Posted December 23, 2004 My shee was doing that exact same thing yesterday. my top end is fine, but it almost dies (bogs out) from 1/8 to 1/4 throttle. I am going to play with my airscrews, if that doesnt work I am going to throw in a 27.5 pilot. Quote
jeenyus Posted December 25, 2004 Report Posted December 25, 2004 2 size bigger main jets, re-adjust the air screw and you are ready to go Quote
r6rider04 Posted December 25, 2004 Report Posted December 25, 2004 i just moved my needles up one notch and i'm running 300 mains and it goes great fires right up every time, but i know if two stokes are "too good" they are to lean how can i tell if it's too lean, what sould the plugs look like? right now they are kind of a light coffee color, i just got it studded up for the ice i just don't want to burn it up Quote

papa_smurf49319 Posted December 26, 2004 Report Posted December 26, 2004 tannish golden brown is perfect jetting, black to rich, and white way lean Quote
r6rider04 Posted December 26, 2004 Report Posted December 26, 2004 thanks smurf.. should be all set then Quote
y2kbanshee9187 Posted December 27, 2004 Author Report Posted December 27, 2004 So where is the needle that I would have to raise? How do I jet it properly? O and where are the airscrews at?( I think I know what youre talking about there) Quote
