05bansh Posted December 17, 2004 Report Posted December 17, 2004 Well I had my mind set on T-5's. I mainly only ride sand dunes. I know the Trinitys are stainless steel. Now I am debating between the two. So what is everyones knowledge and experience with these two pipes? Quote
jaysea1 Posted December 17, 2004 Report Posted December 17, 2004 Well I had my mind set on T-5's. I mainly only ride sand dunes. I know the Trinitys are stainless steel. Now I am debating between the two. So what is everyones knowledge and experience with these two pipes? 294234 I have a set of T-5's on my bike...they're great. I also ride the dunes, exclusively. They work really good on a stock motor, and will respond well to any mods you make. They hit real hard at the mid range(light switch...hold on) and rev up top pretty good. RockyMountain atv has a pretty good price on them. I don't know anything about the Trinity pipes. Stainless steel sounds pretty nice..but at what price? I have'nt really heard any high reviews about them. The Toomeys are a proven pipe for the sand, and I think they're cheaper than the Trinity pipes. But if you are planning on going all out(big bore, porting..etc.) higher reving pipes like CPI's, Rockets, or Shearer might be the ticket. Just depends on your master plan. Toomeys will work alot better on a stock motor, and will still perform well with mods. Quote
05bansh Posted December 17, 2004 Author Report Posted December 17, 2004 The T-5's at rocky mountain are $479.00 The Stainless Trinity's are $700.00 I wont be doing any big boring, but everything else you can think of port, timing, ect.. Quote

ridingorhiding Posted December 17, 2004 Report Posted December 17, 2004 The trinity's i had we good but the T-5's are better and lighter sound better also Quote
05bansh Posted December 17, 2004 Author Report Posted December 17, 2004 I guess my main concern was with the T-5's not being stainless....how prone are they to rusting? Anybody had any rusting problems with their toomys? Quote

Anybody had any rusting problems with their toomys? 294468 Never had any problems with rust on mine. As long as you keep chrome clean it will be ok. Ive had mine for over a year now, and my bro ran them for over a year, and someone had them before him, and mine are in perfect condition. Go with toomeys. Quote
05bansh Posted December 17, 2004 Author Report Posted December 17, 2004 Yea, I think I leaning more toward the Toomys. Nice bike Stclark!! Quote
richybanshee Posted December 17, 2004 Report Posted December 17, 2004 I say: Toomeys Also they are better looking and proven pipes for stock or ported motors. Do not know too much about Trinity Pipes. The one thing I heard is that Trinity pipes have almost an identical power curve compared to the T5's. You may never be certain about the performance of a pipe unless you try it your self. Quote
rocketpig Posted December 17, 2004 Report Posted December 17, 2004 (edited) I say: Toomeys Edited December 17, 2004 by rocketpig Quote

T-6's may be the way to go. Ive heard they run very well on a stock motor. Ive also heard that they run like shat with a ported motor. I even think Toomey themselves say that they are best for a stock bike. Quote
05bansh Posted December 18, 2004 Author Report Posted December 18, 2004 I have heard that too. I will be sticking with the T-5's. I will definately be porting in the future I am still curious about the trinitys though. I mean Toomys are a very well know pipe, with good results. It seems like not very many people have the trinity's thats why I guess I am still curious. Is there anyone here who has or had, or has rode a banshee with trinitys? Quote

It seems like not very many people have the trinity's thats why I guess I am still curious. Is there anyone here who has or had, or has rode a banshee with trinitys? 294776 I have the Trinity's and yes they offer a 30 day money back guarantee which they don't hesistate to tell you about. The Trinity's are an absolute work of art no doubt. They have the best fit and detailed finish of any pipe out there. But for 700 bones they should. They are easy to install, double o-ring sealed everywhere, SS allen head bolts for mounting. No pipe clamps needed though toomey I think offers this too. Also a plus is the billet rear clamps and end cap (very nicely done). They won't rust or dent as easy since they are stainless. They do weigh more than regular steel but not much. Performance wise, I couldn't give just a difference with the pipe alone. I added porting at the same as well as many other mods. They sound really great and just a tad lower volume than my fmf fatties they replaced. Only complaint I have about them is they need an o-ring between the can and midpipe. Though the fatties performed well, they didn't hold up to moisture at all and I babied these pipes. Kept them clean and always oiled them after a wash, they still rusted. I think toomey has a way better finish than the fatties though and will probably hold up a lot better. I know that if you get the Trinity's, you won't be disappointed. Performance of the two are really close and it really comes down to, if you are willing to pay the price for the SS and finish. Either way you will probably be happy. Quote
05bansh Posted December 18, 2004 Author Report Posted December 18, 2004 Thanks Rnbrad! That was just the answer I was looking for. So would you consider the Trinitys a more top end pipe like the Toomys? Quote
