ellison445 Posted December 14, 2004 Report Posted December 14, 2004 For some strange reason I keep burning a whole into the side of my Outewear and Air filter. No matter what I do it keeps happening, I set the filter so it is not near the pipes and when I check, it has a whole in it. Has anyone else had this problem? If so what was your solution to it? Im ready to go back to my stock air box. Any help would be great, also need a new filter and outewear..LOL Quote

The filter's mount is off-center so you can adjust it to where it isn't hitting the pipes. Quote
chipdog Posted December 14, 2004 Report Posted December 14, 2004 YEA just grab the filter and turn it to were the long side is pointing to the rear.youll notice when its being turned wich side is the longer one. Quote
Big Blue Posted December 14, 2004 Report Posted December 14, 2004 Ive seen some people put high temp hose on their pipes. Quote
rebelbanshee2 Posted December 14, 2004 Report Posted December 14, 2004 take a peice of wire and run it around the filter near the pipes. make it tight enough it pulls it tight with the filter Quote
lincster Posted December 15, 2004 Report Posted December 15, 2004 All you have to do is get some high temp tubing and put about 6" of the tubing on each stinger tube of your pipes. Then your outerware can rest against the tubing and not burn. As soon as I can reduce the size of my pix, I will post it. I did this 4 years ago and it has worked very nicely. Quote
