While it's running, spray down all the gasket surfaces with WD40 and see if you have any air leaks. Do a leakdown check and see if you have an air leak.

i think that is the only thing to do, since i cleaned the air filter, changed sparks and sparks plugs and still backfires a little when i realese the trothle... and since i dont know a f*cking thing... one more question what would be the gasket surfaces??? thanksss a lot!! ( dont know what it means )

basically just spray down your whole engine with wd40 and see if it makes your engine rev at all (or does it bog with wd40, I forget if its flammable), anyway, around your carbs, around the intake (piece going from carb to cylinders), around the head, and around the bottom of the cylinders.

Pull your carbs off and CLEAN them. you may have a jet partially blocked making it run lean and causing the backfire. Pull the bottom of the carb off and take out the big jet, and the little jet and blow through them and clean them.

Did you put pipes or a filter or anything on the quad and now its not jetted right causing it?

Could be a fouled plug. Broken reeds. Plugged jet. air leak. ignition problem as well. I once had one of the wires on the primary side of the coil come off and exhibit the same problem. Your plug caps could be faulty as well. I would change the plugs, and clean the carbs and see where that leaves you....

thanks a lot! i did all that and it didnt stop backfiring, so i thought it could be the rings, anyway i checked the compression and it was like this: right 120, left 100, i am sure thats not bad, but i decided to do a rebuild, pistons, rings and that stuff... i am finishing today so i will let you know..., one more thing dont know how you call it in english but the thing that is down the piston, here we call it "viela" they arent very tight so i was thinking if now with a lot of more compression would it cause any trouble? and by the way my cilinders are a little bigger they are around 367 cm3 so i dont know... thanks again!!! i m learning a little about all this stuff i love it!!
