2stroke_addict Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 i want to keep my banshee as stock as posible, but now the time to rebuild my top end is coming, and i'd like to know is installing high-compression pistons will improve my performance even though it's a stock engine, sure i have toomey pipes, v-force reeds, high flow K&N filter and it's jetted but the internal engine is stock. thanks Quote
ledofthezep Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 No experience with either. But I don't believe they'll do a whole lot for performance, if you're not running real high compression; why run high compression pistons? When I do mine I'm going with Weisco Pro Lites. Quote
2stroke_addict Posted December 6, 2004 Author Report Posted December 6, 2004 according to vito's, power pistons will add about 6 HP on stock to mildly ported engines, now, that has got to improve performance, unless they are full of B.S, but i think their claim makes sense. Unless some one here has the opposite opinion. Quote
bigboybanshee Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 I don't have any experience with anything other than weisco pro lites, but I have heard that the vito's pistons do give an increase in power but wear faster than your typical piston. I've been thinking of trying a set out myself, but haven't needed a rebuild since I've bought the shee. I know there are a few people on here that run vito's power pro pistons, maybe one of them will chime in and shed some more light. Quote
Leadfoot350 Posted December 7, 2004 Report Posted December 7, 2004 trinity does not make a piston to increase comp. You can buy the vitos ones but for the extra money you spend on those you might as well have your head shaved and run some QUALITY wiseco pistons. You can get your head shaved for around 30 bucks.
