BudBlazer Posted November 26, 2004 Report Posted November 26, 2004 I'm new to the whole 2-stroke thing and I was wondering how you know how much oil to with your gas? Do the oil manufacturers give you suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated Quote
bansheefreak Posted November 26, 2004 Report Posted November 26, 2004 just pour some oil in till you think theres enough.... j/k!!!!!! myself i use a ratio rite you can get them anywhere they sell the oil... or if you buy that cheap stuff in little bottles it will tell you on the bottle how much oil to put in for any ratio to how many gals of gas you have... red ore Posted November 26, 2004 Report Posted November 26, 2004 (edited) when my rings and bearing have been bad, I punish them by mixing my oil 50-1 also. j/k I ALWAYS mix my oil 32-1, I hate rebuilding stuff every two years......... SINCE your new.... My advice.... find a ratio and STICK with it. Most people dont understand that mixing your oil at different ratio's without rejetting can cause porblems, and damage. YOU DONT have to buy the bestest freekin oil you can find, then mix it 50-1 or 100-1 like they say you can. This leaves problems.....you are out of gas, have no oil, but wanna "bumm" some gas from a buddy to go ride more, but cant use it because he mixes his different... (or the local store dont carry "super fragalistic 2,000 oil" so you are stuck with "el crappo pink" oil that cant be mixed more then 32-1.......whaddya do? shut it off for the day....aint that fun!?!?!? NO! ! ! I am also a firm believer that mixing oil 50-1 or 100-1 cant be a good thing, thats hard on stuff......stuff needs OIL, more then you need that extra 3 horse you can get by mixing it one drop for every 60 gallons of gas. Keep an eye on your PLUGS...they are cheap, buy LOTS and change them often. you wont need to do this forever, just until you get to knwo your machine, and how climate changes or altitude effects your jetting...... Banshee~ Posted November 26, 2004 Report Posted November 26, 2004 If your just breaking in your motor stay away from synthetic oils...but after you get it broken in switch to synthetics....I run belray H1R 32:1 it smells nice to Quote
sanddevil111 Posted November 27, 2004 Report Posted November 27, 2004 wtf 50:1 that shit will fuck it up Quote
FIRST BANSHEE Posted November 27, 2004 Report Posted November 27, 2004 Iv'e always run mine at 32-1, never a problem with bearings or rings sticking, just a motor that lasts a long time. I run klotz R-50, but it's kinda pricey. 32-1 4 0z oil 1 gal of gas Quote
Banshee~ Posted November 27, 2004 Report Posted November 27, 2004 (edited) wtf 50:1 that shit will fuck it up 285418[/snapback] If you use Amsoil Saber Professional they recomend you to mix it at 100:1 Edited November 27, 2004 by Banshee~ Quote
