Ultimateduner Posted November 2, 2004 Report Posted November 2, 2004 Last weekend at the dunes I noticed exhaust coming out of the head pipes when I started it up in the morning. So I bent down and felt around the side of the pipe, and found a gigantic crack. This sucks so bad, every since I bought my pipes ( old-school fmf top-end pipes) I have never seen another pair of them, or a pipe that can out perform them. So I have to have them tick-weilded, if that doesn't work I'm screwed. These pipes are great, I've never lost a race. I just thought I'd share that. Quote
FIRST BANSHEE Posted November 2, 2004 Report Posted November 2, 2004 there just made of milded steel any muffler shop should be able to mig weld for you, or you could have them brazed. tig welding will cost you a little more. good luck. Quote
dave95.1 Posted November 4, 2004 Report Posted November 4, 2004 I have a set of those pipes if you're interested. They are painted black, don't look that great but are in good condition. Quote
mat Posted November 4, 2004 Report Posted November 4, 2004 Mig welding will work, but I highly suggest having the crack tig welded. The pipes go through extreme temperature swings which causes the metal to expand and contract. Tig welding causes less distortion in the metal, which will help the weld to last longer. Quote
