locogato11283 Posted October 4, 2004 Report Posted October 4, 2004 ahh i am enlightened. i get it now. sredish, i tried a set of stock carbs on mine and it acted the very same way. dead spot and all. it almost ran exactly the same but maybe not quite as much on top. i think the single carb would be sweet being that you only have one carb to jet. hell if it works then why doesnt everyone do that? im serisouly thinkin about doin it myself. id much rather jet one than 2 carbs. hmm something to think about Quote

I'm not saying the single carb is the perfect solution for everything, but I do believe that under mildly modded motors, it has some serious advantages. The ease of jetting is just an added benefit, but that's not why I have it. Did you see how early the power comes on in that dyno sheet I posted in the Banshee Repairs forum? 50hp and 43lbs/tq. at 6,700 rpm, with the peak power at 9,200 and still at 50hp and 42lbs/tq at 9,500. That particular machine has a funny dip in the middle tho, dunno why, i'm thinking porting. most people have to ignore me because i'll go on and on when i believe in something. why don't more people try it, i think because there is a lot of people who diss it but don't really know much about it and it puts a negative stigma on it. (is stigma the right word?? ) BTW, what are you runnin on your 500? Edited October 5, 2004 by sredish Quote

United Pot Smoker Posted October 5, 2004 Report Posted October 5, 2004 There's no way dual carbs are going back on my machine. wow. your first post was so clear. im glad i got my cv intake for $80 with my 34 pj. and thats soly why i bought it. it came with cable and all. what a difference they make in power. you wont see duels on mine either. just another testimonial. i did do a few other things though to mine with the 2-1 carb so i cant really say witch exactly did what but there is no turing back. thanks for the info red. decon Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 on the subject in single carbs, I seen this cv setup other than trinity, i dont remeber the company name because they were on ebay. they had 2 tubes connected to both intakes, and then connecting together and holding the single carb on the other end. would this setpu run the same as the trinity cv intake setup? it looked something like this (dont mind my paint skills ). Graydon. It requires you to move the airbox back some. Good setup tho, runs pretty much the same. Some have said slightly more low end due to the longer tubes increasing the velocity. dunno tho, also heard there's not any real difference. Quote
