Bansheerider29x Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 hey i have a 95 shee with an 01 engine in it(just rebuilt). I have rebuilt other engines before so i know i havent done it wrong. After it was rebuilt i found out there was no spark getting to the spark plug from the igintion coil so i bought a brand new one or 52 bucks put it on and still no spark i checked the stator and it reads good power so what else could it be please help and if u know what it maybe please e-mail me instead at [email protected] thanks Quote
BenBB Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 If you just rebuilt it, I'd check the pickup coil gap first, then the wires from the stator/pickup coil in case they got cut when (if?) you mounted the stator to the motor. If that checks out I'd go over all the wiring for any shorts to the frame and check all the connectors. If it still won't fire it's probably either the CDI or stator, you SHOULD be able to rule out the stator with the resistance test but fixitrod had one go out recently that still tested good. Anyway, got lotsa stuff on chasing electrical probs in the FAQ below if you want to check it out. Good luck. Quote
420bigbore Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 I am also having the same problem, with my shee..i am going to order a coil from ebay...also ive been told that if you are running an aftermarket type kill switch it can be messing you up beyond belief...my shee is notorious for running through coils, can anyone explain this is this normal? is there something else going on thats just eating through all of my coils?? Is my stator overcharging my coils with to much juice and frying them..i need help.. Quote
screamin pumpkin Posted October 5, 2004 Report Posted October 5, 2004 just thoughti coulld help.it worked for me. take a 12 volt tester, take a real small allen and hook it to the alligator clip, the take off the front plastic to reveal the key switch plug. un plug it. put the allen in one hole and the point of the tester in the other (the bottom plug not the key switch part) and kick away it should fire up first kick.if not it cuould be the switch in the throttle assembly. trace the wires to the throttle.when you trace them down the loom there is a plug at the end snip it off before the plug and use a butt connector to connect them. it should start then.that was my problem.Idid both and have never had a problem since, good luck dude,if you need a diagram,i can send you an exact diagram if need .
